Our first brief has been to Rebrand the Roadhouse, a Manchester institution the Roadhouse has become one the city’s best known venues over the past 20 years and its owners have decided its time for a rebrand, a new identity to allow the venue to evolve. As a group our primary focus for this brief has been to ensure the logo we created suited the venue and would be aesthetically effective to a broad audience. As the venue has such a broad target market and range of themes it was integral that our logo could be applicable to all of the above. A logo of quality that can be used in an array of different manors to fit its purpose.
Following our meeting with Kate our main inspiration and starting point for the project was her interest in Prohibition America. After researching this area of visual media and how its has been modernised for moonshine, whiskey and other liquor labels. We found this visual style to be most appropriate for the venue. This style is instantly recognisable and closely linked with the music industry. It’s inclusion of vintage type in conjunction with a contemporary design.
